The Purpose of  GIFT

GIFT Therapy & Consulting stands for Generating Intelliwonder and Facilitating Transformation. Intelliwonder is a term I coined to describe the process and purpose I bring to all of my work, as much of the human experience, such as grief, resilience, meaning, and connection, does not fit neatly into clinical language. Intelliwonder names the process of slowing down, making sense of one’s inner world, and facilitating insight, emotional safety, and lasting change.

As a verb, intelliwonder describes the intentional practice of cultivating curiosity, with reflection and openness, to invite new possibilities, meaningful growth, healing, and change. As a noun, intelliwonder refers to a felt sense of wonder that emerges when people become curious about their inner experiences and relationships, from which wonder and wonders can also take root and flourish. Therapy often takes place in this in-between space.

At its core, GIFT Therapy and Consulting is grounded in the belief that every person carries innate strengths, insight, and capacity for healing. Therapy is not about fixing what is broken, but about creating the conditions for people to access, restore, and harness their inner gifts, both individually and in connection with others. When people are supported in reconnecting with themselves and each other, the impact extends beyond the therapy room, as the well-being of our communities and the world depends on it.

Sometimes, we lose sight of our own innate gifts - whether through life’s challenges, environments that fail to nurture us, systems that diminish rather than cultivate our strengths, or choosing paths that don't serve us. If you are ready to reconnect with your own gifts and deepen your inner wisdom and resilience, it would be an honor to support your journey.

About Me:  Jolynn Woehrer, MA, MSP, MSW, APSW

My approach as a therapist is shaped by more than two decades of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities navigating stress, trauma, conflict, and major transitions. I came to this work through my own life experiences and many years of hands-on involvement in domestic violence advocacy, violence prevention programming and curriculum development, facilitation, and systems-level change coordination—long before entering clinical practice. Those experiences continue to deeply inform how I approach therapy today.  Mid-career, I returned to graduate study to deepen and formalize my commitment to healing and systems change, earning back-to-back master’s degrees in Sustainable Peacebuilding and Social Work, along with certificates in Trauma-Informed Care and Trauma Counseling. I am currently a Clinical Social Worker/ Advanced Practice Social Worker #135543-121 in Wisconsin, practicing under the supervision of Mary Jane Demet, MSW, LCSW #3960-123, as I continue to advance my clinical training and expertise.

I believe meaningful healing happens when people feel emotionally safe, respected, and understood, not rushed or judged. My approach is integrative and relational, drawing from a range of modalities, including EMDR, to support both immediate concerns and deeper patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we focus on understanding what you’re experiencing now, while also honoring the strengths, adaptations, and resilience that have helped you survive and carry on.

At the core of my work are values of compassion, accountability, curiosity, and empowerment. I strive to create a therapy space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have all the answers. Instead, our work is collaborative and paced with care to honor your process of cultivating greater emotional safety, clarity, connection, and sustainable well-being.

I work with adults, families, and groups, and I have a particular interest in supporting people in high-demand roles, trauma survivors, and those navigating complex relational or systemic stressors. In addition to my clinical work, I also teach and consult in areas related to peace studies, well-being, and resilience, which keeps my practice grounded in both real-world experience and reflective learning.

Areas of Practice

Services

I offer services that support individuals and organizations navigating high levels of stress, responsibility, and human impact in their work and lives. My approach integrates trauma-informed care, reflective practice, and purpose-centered healing to help people reconnect with well-being, resilience, and clarity.

Individual Therapy

Life can feel heavy when expectations are high and support feels thin. Individual therapy offers a confidential space to slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and reconnect with clarity, strength, and direction.

My work is especially supportive for helpers, leaders, professionals, and people navigating complex life stress, trauma, or relationship challenges. Together we explore patterns, build practical tools, and support healing so that you can move forward with greater steadiness and purpose.

Sessions focus on reducing overwhelm, strengthening emotional resilience, improving relationships, and restoring a sense of balance and meaning in everyday life.

A place to pause.

Reflect. Reset.

And move forward with intention.

EMDR and Healing-Focused Intensives

Sometimes healing needs more than a weekly hour. EMDR and Healing-Focused Intensives offer deeper, focused time to work through experiences that continue to weigh on the mind and body.

Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other trauma-responsive approaches, intensives help the brain and nervous system process unresolved experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional charge. Instead of slowly circling the same patterns, intensives allow for meaningful progress in a concentrated, supported setting.

These sessions are designed for people who want to move through trauma, reduce emotional reactivity, and regain clarity and stability, often in a shorter period of time.

More focused time.
Deeper healing.
A clearer path forward.

Consulting for Organizations & Programs

Work that serves others can be meaningful—and exhausting. Organizations doing justice, advocacy, and service work often carry a heavy human toll. I help teams strengthen their capacity to do this work without burning out the people doing it.

Through consulting, facilitation, and program development, I support organizations in building trauma-aware, resilient, and sustainable cultures and programs. Together we address challenges such as staff stress and fatigue, team communication, conflict, leadership pressures, and maintaining mission clarity in demanding environments.

My approach blends trauma-informed practice, systems thinking, and peacebuilding frameworks to help organizations align their values with how they work day to day.

Stronger teams.
Healthier organizational culture.
Sustainable impact for the long term.

For these reasons, services are offered on a private-pay, fee-for-service basis to minimize third-party involvement and preserve clinical autonomy.
