The Purpose of  GIFT

GIFT Therapy & Consulting stands for Generating Intelliwonder and Facilitating Transformation.

Intelliwonder is a term I coined to describe the spirit behind my work. Much of the human experience, like grief, resilience, meaning, and connection, doesn’t always fit neatly into clinical language. Intelliwonder reflects the practice of slowing down, becoming curious about our inner lives, and making space for insight, emotional safety, and meaningful change. At its core, this approach invites reflection, curiosity, and collaboration as pathways to healing and growth. It encourages a deeper understanding of not only oneself, but also of others, relationships, environments, and the systems that shape our experiences.

GIFT Therapy & Consulting is grounded in the belief that every person carries innate strengths and the capacity for healing. GIFT is not about fixing what is broken, but about creating the conditions for people to reconnect with their innate gifts, restore balance, and move forward with greater resilience and purpose. When individuals reconnect with themselves and others, the impact extends far beyond those moments of support, reaching into communities and the wider world.

If you’re ready to reconnect with your own strengths, wisdom, and resilience, it would be an honor to support your journey.

About Me...
Jolynn Woehrer
, MA, MSP, MSW, APSW

My work as a psychotherapist and peacebuilding consultant is shaped by more than two decades of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities navigating stress, trauma, conflict, and major life transitions. I began this work through advocacy for survivors of domestic abuse, intimate partner violence prevention programming, group facilitation, and systems-change stewardship long before entering clinical practice. These experiences continue to inform my understanding of how personal and collective change efforts intersect with larger systems.

Mid-career, I returned to graduate study to deepen my commitment to healing and change, earning master’s degrees in Sustainable Peacebuilding and Social Work, along with certificates in Trauma-Informed Care and Trauma Counseling. I am an Advanced Practice Social Worker in Wisconsin (#135543-121), currently practicing under the supervision of Mary Jane Demet, MSW, LCSW (#3960-123) as I continue advancing my clinical training.

As a peacebuilder and social worker, I view healing as both personal and collective. The work we do in therapy with individuals, families, and groups is deeply connected to the larger systems in which we live. As people develop greater awareness, compassion, and alignment in their own lives, it can ripple outward, informing how they show up in relationships, communities, and systems. In this way, therapy becomes not only a space for individual healing, but also a foundation for meaningful, sustained transformation beyond the therapy room.

My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and integrative. I draw from multiple modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR, to help clients address immediate concerns while also working through deeper patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I believe healing happens when people feel emotionally safe, respected, and understood. Together, we move at a pace that supports clarity, connection, resilience, and meaningful, sustainable well-being.

I work with adults, couples, families, and groups, and have a particular interest in supporting trauma survivors, people in high-demand professions, and those navigating complex relational or systemic stressors. In addition to my clinical work, I also teach and consult on topics related to peacebuilding, accountability, well-being, and resilience.

Areas of Practice

Services

I offer services that support individuals and organizations navigating high levels of stress, responsibility, and human impact in their work and lives. My approach integrates trauma-informed care, reflective practice, and purpose-centered healing to help people reconnect with well-being, resilience, and clarity.

Individual Therapy

Life can feel heavy when expectations are high and support feels thin. Individual therapy offers a confidential space to slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and reconnect with clarity, strength, and direction.

My work is especially supportive for helpers, leaders, professionals, and people navigating complex life stress, trauma, or relationship challenges. Together we explore patterns, build practical tools, and support healing so that you can move forward with greater steadiness and purpose.

Sessions focus on reducing overwhelm, strengthening emotional resilience, improving relationships, and restoring a sense of balance and meaning in everyday life.

EMDR and Healing-Focused Intensives

Sometimes healing needs more than a weekly hour. EMDR and Healing-Focused Intensives offer deeper, focused time to work through experiences that continue to weigh on the mind and body.

Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other trauma-responsive approaches, intensives help the brain and nervous system process unresolved experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional charge. Instead of slowly circling the same patterns, intensives allow for meaningful progress in a concentrated, supported setting.

These sessions are designed for people who want to move through trauma, reduce emotional reactivity, and regain clarity and stability, often in a shorter period of time.

Consulting for Organizations & Programs

Work that serves others can be meaningful and exhausting. Organizations doing justice, advocacy, and service work often carry a heavy human toll. I help teams strengthen their capacity to do this work without burning out the people doing it.

Through consulting, facilitation, and program development, I support organizations in building trauma-aware, resilient, and sustainable cultures and programs. Together, we address challenges such as staff stress and fatigue, team communication, conflict, leadership pressures, and maintaining mission clarity in demanding environments.

My approach blends systems thinking and peacebuilding frameworks to help organizations align their values with how they work day to day.
